Erik Wennermark is a writer of fiction, creative nonfiction, art criticism and other brands of journalism. He has a BA in Individualized Study (with a focus in Drawing/Painting and 20th Century European Literature) from New York University and an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University of Alabama. While at Alabama he taught Creative Writing, American Literature, and English Composition.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Erik worked for two years at a contemporary art gallery in New York City and served an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice, Italy. During his stay in Venice he was privileged to help install the American pavilion at the 2003 Venice Biennale. Upon returning from Venice, Erik worked in the Fine Arts Department at Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland for two enjoyable years. He then went to Alabama for graduate school. Erik lives in Chicago pursuing opportunities to do his three favorite things: write fiction, look at art, and teach great books.
